|
I inserted a gif into a Writer document. The image had a transparent background. When I viewed the doc on the screen and print preview, the image showed as transparent properly.
After I closed Writer then reopened it, the image no longer had its transparent background.
How can I maintain the transparency?
NeoOffice 2.1, patch 7

I ran a test doing the following:
Inserted in picture from file; with image selected go to View > Toolbars > Pictures: adjusted transparency to 75%
With image still selected; return to View > Toolbars > Frame; select 3rd element titled: "Wrap Through"
Click off image and on page to write some text that fills width of page; text is seen through image.
Save; close; reopen and transparency is still evident.
Can you tell me if these steps work for you, or if I've done something different than your setup? |

Sorry, I don't want the *entire image* to be transparent, I want the original background transparent as I create the gif file. (it's a person on a transparent background).
I should have made that more clear - I know how to alter the transparency of an entire image w/in Writer, but not how to maintain the "real" transparency of a gif.

alright; I tested a gif image with a transparent background; it's set as anchored to character
Double-clicked image and in Picture pop-up window select Wrap tab and 'through" with Options "in background" checked.
text crosses over image boundery into transparency section and can be seen; view in preview; all looks fine. Close; Reopen still fine.
Does this not work for you? |
