My toolbars, which I had fairly significantly altered, were lost in the upgrade to 2.2.1 (though I don't recall them sticking through earlier upgrades either).

Is that supposed to happen? Can I easily transfer them over?

(I did move the xml file in soffice.cfg/.../toolbar to no avail.)

Saw that, but was hoping it was something else.

Note that the installer didn't copy over the xml files from 2.1 at all, suggesting to me that it wasn't meant to, but maybe it checked them first.

This is a known but undesired behavior in NeoOffice's underlying OpenOffice.org code. For some reason, the OpenOffice.org cannot or will not (not sure which) copy over certain preferences and, so far, we have been building a list of manual steps as a workaround. Sad
