OK, I know, I've been dragging on this but it seems that it's nearly time for our Neo get-together There seemed to be a number of people interested in the US west coast, so I'm thinking So Cal may be the place this year for our 2nd annual Neo user congregation and good times. We're thinking it might be fun to spend a day or two on Catalina. There's lots of different things to do for folks to hang out with new friends.
We're thinking of getting together in October as it's kind of in-between seasons in Catalina. Reply if you'd be interested in coming and vote for your favorite weekend in the poll. If we get enough interest we should be on If there are non-west-coasters flying in I probably can pick folks up at the airport and such as well b4 we catch the ferry.
I will definitely be there. Avalon is a nice little town on Catalina Island that reminds me of Capri in Italy. It is only an hour ferry ride from Los Angeles' Long Beach harbor.
Ed and I came up with this idea when we were remembering how much fun we had hanging out with the NeoOffice users that attended OOoCon 2006 and we wanted to do that again. The difference this time is that we will drop the conference part and just socialize in a relaxed location from Friday night through Sunday morning.
We really want to do another event like this in Europe as well. If people enjoy this event, Ed and I will do one in Europe in early 2008.

OK, so I've been slacking in planning and need to jump on this baby. It looks like the weekend of October 20th has shown the most interest, that is, the third weekend in October. If there are people who are interested in attending that weekend, then it may be time to declare open season for the 2nd annual NeoOffice Conference and Drinkathon Extravaganza!
(well, probably the 3rd if you count an epic 8 hours for me, jakeosx, and a couple random dudes in the desert that may not count nor may be recalled with clarity by the participants...)
If you think you are interested in attending the Catilina adventure on Oct. 20th please PM me or e-mail me if you're interested in attending so I can get a count and start to look finalize airport transportation, potential group rates, airline discounts, etc.
