I was wondering... In Excel when I create graphs/charts about student data, I can add a trendline that shows growth over the life of the chart. In Calc, I find regression curves and other fancy stats stuff, but no simple trend line. It is possible I don't know enough about the regression curves to make them do what I want.

I have searched the fora to no avail so far. Any suggestions?

thanks!
Shari

If you want the values along a linear trend, follow these steps:

Select the range where you want to display these values

Click on the function icon in the toolbar (on the left of the formula field)

Select Matrix in the Category list

Select TREND in the functions list

Then fill the fields Data Y, Data X, New Data X, and click OK (Linear_Type and New Data_X are optional).

Click OK

(In NeoOffice help, choose NeoOffice Calc and enter TREND in the search field.)
