Apologies in advance if this is a simple question!
I often cite using the American Anthropological Association citation style. Individual reference items are supposed to be formatted so that the first line is unindented, the second line is a couple of spaces from the left margin, and the third and all subsequent lines are a couple of spaces more than the second line form the left margin. Is there any way to set the paragraph preferences so that the third and subsequent lines do not get "stuck" at the same indent as the second line?
Many thanks in advance to anyone able to help me with this issue. Examples of references correctly formatted in AAA style can be accessed at http://www.aaanet.org/pubs/style_guide.htm.
It's not a simple question And this forum tries to answer all questions…
Maybe the best you have to do is to create a template with the formatting you want. See this article in Neowiki.

It is not a simple question. To my knowledge, it is not possible to set three indent levels (1st line, 2nd line, 3rd & subsequent lines), it is only possible to set 2 indent levels (1st line, 2nd line)
The only workaround I can see is to create two paragraph styles. One for the first line of your citation and one for the 2nd and subsequent lines. This means each citation would actually be two separate paragraphs (so you'd have to put a hard carriage return at the end of the first line). In defining the paragraph style for the first line, you can specify that it is always to be followed by the paragraph style for the remainder of the citation by setting the "Next Style" in the Organizer tab of the modify page styles window. If the citations are one after the other (as in a Bibliography), you could set the "Next Style" for the 2&subsequent line style to the style for line 1, and Neo will automatically switch back and forth between these two styles with each carriage return.
