Thanks a lot Lorinda.
Can I conclude that you "love NeoOffice Math"?

Actually, I've never used it, except maybe once or twice to test something in a article you wrote and I was polishing.
Had Neo been around when I was taking Calculus or Matrices and Linear Algebra, my answer might be different.

Dear Jacqueline, there is something "wrong" (probably not the exact word) in your article, about the use of ~.
Since characters are proportional, using ~ is doesn't assure the exact position. In fact in the first formula you have written Code: | left lbrace binom{a+b+c+d=f+g}{alignr h+k=i{~~~~} } right none | equals (=) are not aligned.
This depend on the space occupied by ~ sign.
It's possible to arrive to a more precise alignment using a combination of ~ and {}. {} is a smaller space than ~, so, for example, using
Code: | left lbrace binom{a+b+c+d=f+g}{alignr h+k=i {~~~~}{}{} } right none | permit a better (in my opinion) alignment.
I also don't understand the reason of the first formula in the second table Code: | a+b+c{~~~} newline a-b+c-d |
If you go to Format ->alignment and choose left, you don't need any ~ sign.
Valter
p.s.: I've translated your article in italian |

Thanks Valter.
I'll improve the article.

Corrections are done in French and English versions. I uploaded two new versions of Alignment1.png and Alignment9.png.
I removed the first formula in the second table.
The last formula in this table is sligthly changed too for a better alignment.
Thanks again.
Jacqueline

I think I might use "Certain" instead of "Some" in the English page's title. Dunno, it sounds better to me for a reason I can't quite put my finder on....

I suspect your English is better than mine
I'll rename the English page as you are suggesting
