|
Run a G4/OSx.4.10/Printer Laser Brother HL2040.
Was printing a 6 page Spreadsheet. Printed to page 4 Row 34 OK then blanks with lines. Tried another Spreadsheet and again failed to print out the data. Printed blanks with the occasional line.
Brought up Appleworks/Worksheet/ Printed data satisfactorily. It thus appears I've encountered a printing problem with NeoOffice. |

I suspect that you have bug 2674. Please download the test patch listed at the end of that bug and tell us if the test patch fixes the problem for you.

Use your browser's search feature and search for "Patch-0-Test-5" in that bug. You will find a post with 2 links: one for PowerPC machines and one for Intel machines. Copy and past the applicable link in your browser to download the test patch.

Thanks Patrick, unfortunately I finished up on the page to Download N.O 2.2.2. I'll have to leave it. A three page spreadheet can be printed. From four pages upwards it will not print. Re lines on the blank pages they can be avoided by going into Page Preview and clicking off Objects.
Thanks again

I don't understand what you mean by "finished up on the Download". If you have NeoOffice 2.2.2, you just download and install the test patch. Since NeoOffice is test by users like yourself, we provide test patches so that users can test our bug fixes before we push them out as an official patch.
You can either get the fix now in a test patch or gamble that it fixes your bug and wait until the official NeoOffice 2.2.2 Patch 1 is released on the patch download page. However, if you only wait for official patches, there is a risk that your bug is actually a different bug that we are unaware of and it won't be fixed in the official patch.
Edit: I just posted new links to the lastest test patch at the very end of bug 2674 so just scroll to the bottom of that bug's page to find the latest links that you can copy and paste into your web browser.

My apologies Patrick - poor typing. Should have read "in N.O 2.2.2 Download page. With all the patches you recommend there is nothing on the pages to Download either a patch or an URL.
I want to sort this as there's a 4 sheet 15 page Spreadsheet to print out by Saturday.
The document was first set up in 04 and used each year with data applicable to the year. This is the first time that there has been printing problems.
Thanks again

The test patch is not on the download pages yet as we let the more adventurous users test them out first before we make them "official" and put them on the patch download patch.
The latest test patch is available from the following links. We are still a couple of days away from turning making an official patch from the latest test patch code as we are waiting for confirmation that it actually fixes a few other bugs:
PowerPC:

Intel:

Just downloaded patch 1 to solve the my printing problem (just blanco pages). Again only white, no ink. I have to convert (export) the document into pdf to get the printing done. The pdf-document prints just fine. As does my old AppleWorks 6.2.9.

Most likely, you have the same problem that another user had. That user reported that "I have been running Java 5 for a long time but I've had a update for 1.4 that I've never done (since I use 5). That update has apparently blocked the updates for newer version ov Java 5 so after I updated the Java 1.4 version I also got updates for Java 5 to do and then everything worked fine."
If you are running Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger), I would recommend that you make sure that your machine has the latest Java updates from Apple installed. To do this, first make sure that you have installed all system updates from Apple. After doing all system updates, your machine should be at Mac OS X 10.4.10.
If installing all of the system updates does not help, then manually download and install Apple's Java system update from here:

Was having a similar problem in 2.2.2 patch 0 with a 10 page spreadsheet printing blank after about halfway through page 5; then all blank on subsequent attempts. Patch 2 fixed the problem. 1GHZ G4, 10.4.10. I couldn't figure out how to import from Appleworks, but a simple copy and paste did the trick with just a few little glitches. |

As posted the Patch resolved the problem. Re Apple Updates except for iTunes and Quicktime all Updates have been installed. Running 0SX4.10.
NeoOffice has been run since 04 and no printing problems until 2.2.2.The same document with 06-07 data was printed using 2.2.1 without problems. |

All of a sudden the machine did it: throwing ink on a piece of paper where before I got blanco's. I don't know what is wrong. I do not believe in miracles and yes I update myself sufly (I don't think there were Java-updates lately).

pandoerneo don't know what machine or operating system you're running, but there's update 10.4.11 available. |
