Using OOo 1.1.2 Tech preview 4.
Using Calc.
I have a Master sheet containing columns (A-D) with data, followed by columns (E-J) with calculations based upon those date. I then have a number of blank columns (K-N) into which I propose to enter data later.

I want to create sheets linked to the master sheet such that Sheet2 has columns A-J plus K; Sheet3 columns A-J plus L; Sheet4 columns A-J plusM; Sheet5 columns A-J plus N.

When I use Copy then Paste Special, the blank cells in the Master have no references in Sheets 2-5.

Thus, when I enter data into the blank cells in the Master sheet, they are not carried forward to the subsequent sheets.

Also, if I insert or delete a column in the Master, the references in the subsequent sheets become confusing. The references are absolute as in $Master.$A$1.

What am I doing wrong?

While I don't know the answer off the top of my head (I'm not a Calc expert...the kind of stuff I need to do usually winds up in the hands of Octave) you may want to check out one of the more general OOo support forums. The best place would probably be the Calc section at oooforum:

Ed

Thanx for the tip.

Have done so http://www.oooforum.org/forum/viewtopic.php?p=35915#35915

(Is this the proper way to forward readers to the new posting?)

Glad you got the help you needed!

You got the link forwarding correct. Simply copying and pasting the full link should be fine. Sometimes with phpBB or other forums you may want to look at the link first...some of them have parameters that are unique to your user account, usually "sid" or "uid". I generally strip those off before pasting links so other people don't try to get logged in as "me" Smile
