Hello,

I downloaded and installed on my B&W G3 running Jaguar, Apple X11 beta

The install went smooth and quite fast considering the age of the machine.

I double clicked StartOO and it started the 1.0 version that was installed on my other disk. I changed the version to start in the menu (great stuff Terry!) and it started the 1.0 version again...

From the xterm ./soffice gave the correct result and I soon had a spreadsheet open. Tried setting up a JDBC database connection to PostgreSQL running on the same machine - crash badaboom!!!

My Very Humble Point Of View: Twisted Evil

The installer is newbie friendly, click click and answer a couple of questions very cool.
Speed seems better than OOo 1.0
Database connection is where it has always been - difficult to get running.

Great work, looking forward to the shrinkwrap version! I hope to get the time to play with database connectors some more.

Cheers

Tony

Does your crashing problem seem similar to the following bug?:

If so, the problem might be solved with the OOo 1.1 Technical Preview that is current out.

Note also that with Apple X11 beta you may also experience a "creep" in the open and save dialogs (and potentially other windows too). This was a problem in beta 3 that ws fixed in Apple X11 final which, unfortunately, isn't available for Jag.

The Apple X11 sources are freely available under an MIT license, but I haven't had time to play around with recompiling them for Jag or even checking if it's possible.
