Hide columns and rows

I need to assign a key to the commands Hide Column and Hide Row. First, I notice the entry Hide is repeated several time and I would say this is against Mac Os convention, as when an entry is duplicated or triplicated it is not possible to assign a key through the preferences of the Mac Os.

Anyway, I renamed both commands like Hide Column and Hide Row. I assigned at least a dozen different entries (even CTRL+KEYPAD 1 and 2) but the menu entry isn't activated.

I have the same problem by using an automating program (i.e. Quickeys), such entries seem to give problems, any idea?[/list]

I suppose you want to do that in a Calc document.

Go to the Tools > Customize… menu.

In the Customize window that opens, be sure that the Calc radio button is checked.

In the Category section, select Format.

In the Function section scroll down until you see Hide Columns and select this item.

In the Shortcut keys section, look for a shortcut you desire, e.g. Command-6 (on the numeric keyboard) select it and click Modify.

Apply the same method to Hide Rows and click OK.
