I hate it, when Neo Office is open, but there are no open documents, and I know what doc I need, it's in the recent docs, but then I have to open a blank doc first, then choose recent docs, then choose the doc I want. Wouldn't it be a good idea to put the recent docs in the NeoOffice Menu, so that with nothing open, I can still open the recent docs?

This feature has already been requested, and implemented (in a slightly different way - the file menu is there even when "no" window is open). It's one of the features of the upcoming NeoOffice 2.2.3 release. A quick search never hurts…

This forum has a test patch you can download which basically implements this:

http://trinity.neooffice.org/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=5555&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=15

The latest patch is at the bottom of the page - make sure you get the newest version!

edit: I should make it very clear that this is a test patch - it may not work perfectly. It's up to you if you would like to try it - read the forum posts for more information. As said above, it will be implemented as one of the new features officially in NeoOffice 2.2.3.

Short term help here,
NOMu is a small menu based launcher for neooffice that I have found to be stable and very useful. It includes a recent docs list even when neo is closed. check it out here:

hope this helps while the Neo team comes up with the next great release!
