PostPosted: Wed Feb 27, 2008 10:46 am    Post subject: How to show all cells in a filtered spreadsheet

I'm having a problem with the subject of this topic.

With the translation software I'm using, I need to leave everything hidden but the text to be translated, sometimes I also need to apply a filter in order to know which lines are to be translated.

If I select the whole document and I choose Unhide for both rows and columns, the first row which contains the filter and is hidden doesn't display and I don't know how to get it as the command doesn't work anymore. Sometimes the hidden columns are displayed but the filter is still active (and I can't see it as it's in the first row).

Is there a way to remove the filter and show everything? I'm not sure I was clear but just to give you a clue of what I'm trying to say Very Happy , in Excel 2007 I used to click the Filter button in order to Remove the filter, then I could unhide everything.

Select the row which contains the filter. Go to Data > Filter and select Hide AutoFilter.

Hope that helps.

OK but what about the row which contains the filter is hidden? I can't show it and the command you mentioned doesn't seem to work.

Which kind of filter are you applying in the first place - standard, advanced, or AutoFilter?

That might be the cause of your problem…

You can try to create a new Calc document, copy/paste your Excel file in it, apply a filter, hide the row and see if you can get what you want.

Hope that will work fine Smile
