Posted: Mon Jun 28, 2004 6:51 am Post subject: Ooo1.1.2 refuses to install becuase of libtruetype? HELP!
I have tried everything I know which includes installing xfree86, reinstalling x11, and truetype 1.3.1X. I keep getting a message when installing OOo that an incompatible libtretype is in use and stops installition. What do I need to get rid of to get things running again?

Please look in your /usr/X11R6/lib directory and check to make sure you have the "libfreetype.6.3.dylib" library. I believe that is the version for which the installer is checking. In general, if you have 6.0 or 6.1 and not 6.2 or 6.3 the installer will refuse to run. I think I removed the explicit installation of libfreetype from the OOo IA installer since the included XFree86 4.3.0 and higher versions include proper versions. Same goes for Apple X11.
Apparently there is no libfreetype on my system, only an old alias. I keep reinstalling xfree86 and x11 but still no libtruetpe gets installed. What am I doing wrong?
