After a comment by Jacqueline in another thread, I got curious, and checked out the Recent changes page in the Neowiki. I can't get any changes to show up, even though I know there are some. I made two changes myself today, and I know Smokey made at least one.

Not a huge deal, but something does seem odd.

I can see two changes by you on Recent Changes - but not any of Smokey's changes though…

I've had the same problem as Lorinda a few weeks ago, on my two machines, with Safari and Camino. Curiously that worked fine on my husband's machine. From his iMac I sent me a link to the Recent changes page. When I click on the link in Mail I got the right Recent changes page Question Rolling Eyes
Now I see the changes except Smokey's ones.

It looks like it's just my copy of Firefox. I tried clearing the cache and that didn't do it. But if I use Safari, I can see the recent changes....except those that Smokey made.

Copying the link from Safari and pasting into Firefox made it work in Firefox. Weird.

Oh well, at least it's just me, except when it comes to Smokey's stealth mode. Wink

It's not just you Wink At some point at least Patrick and I became "bots" as well as whatever else, and the default setting on the Recent Changes page is to hide edits from bots. There doesn't seem to be any way to always show bot edits by default (other than using the special Recent Changes link) Sad

So that's what it is!

Also, I discovered what my Firefox problem was. My bookmark for the wiki mainpage was still using sixthcrusade.com. (Which explains why the Neo version number was wrong on the main page).

Do we need to take that site down or redirect somehow?

Fortunately I rarely use my mainpage bookmark. I've been using a Butler-triggered custom search engine to search the wiki most of the time.

Open the Recent changes page and click on Show bots Very Happy

Who could think that Patrick and Smokey were "bots" Rolling Eyes

Well I always thought there was something fishy about this Patrick character...

I'll look into the mediawiki source code and see what exactly triggers this bot designation.

FYI. I have removed Smokey and I from the "bots" group. Hopefully that will correct the problem.
