Is it possible to have template place-holders for images? E.g. if you choose 'text and two objects' layout you get a pre-defined space to put some text and a couple of OLE Objects. I'd like to do the same, but have text and two images instead.
The reason for asking is I've just realised that you can't put a simple image into an 'object' placeholder (you can in PPT 04).
I tried double clicking on a NO object container and then 'loading from file' and simply choosing an image file. This seems to open Draw and create a blank document containing whatever image you picked and have the whole lot embedded in the object container on the page. Then (at least on my system) NO crashes. Not so concerned about the crashes right now, more about whether I can get placeholders for images rather than OLE object containers.
I have found out how to import images via the insert:pictures:from file option - but these images are not attachable to a placeholder. The behaviour I'm after is to be able to either open an image in a placeholder (by double clicking) or by dragging an image to a placeholder, have the image resize to fit into the placeholder. Been standard behaviour in other similar apps for a long time, so suspect somehow it is possible here, just not sure what to do.

Yeah, I don't think you can insert images directly. One idea, though hacky, would be to insert a "NeoOffice Text" OLE Object (essentially Writer). That can then have placeholder images in it. The scaling seems to be a little wacky with the little bit that I've been trying this, but I think the objects created from the template would hold the example images and allow the images to be replaced while retaining the bounds of the OLE Object area.
