I was wondering if it would be possible to display the forum's current date and time so that if one is idly browsing it is easy to see how long ago something was posted. This would obviously be modified, for a user who had logged in, by their user preferences.

It's not a big thing so it would only be worth doing if it was trivial.

The current date and time displayed when you click on the Forums link on the left side of the page.

If you want more than that, sorry, but we didn't write this website's software. Instead, we used an open source software package called PHPNuke precisely to avoid spending most of our time and donations working on software unrelated to NeoOffice so expanding our scope to enhance the PHPNuke software is not planned anytime soon.

And the last time you visited, and links to all the new posts since your last visit.

Like so

The date and time should, in theory, all match whatever timezone you specify in the preferences. If you go to "Your Account" no the left (in the trinity box), then click on "Your Settings", you'll see an entry called "Forum Timezone". That timezone controls how all of the times are reported to you from the forum. I keep it set to my local timezone, so everything is actually relative to my concept of "now".

The timezone being displayed to you is at the bottom of the blue box with all the postings. Search the page for "All times are"... and that should show the current setting of your "Forum Timezone" preference.

Thanks everyone for your replies and your patience. I don't know how I missed the info on the opening page! Embarassed I guess my only excuse is I don't tend to hang around there much.
