FYI. Today I installed Alternative PHP Cache (APC) on our servers to help ensure that the large amounts of PHP code in our www, trinity, and neowiki sites runs as quickly as possible.
APC is pretty straightforward in what is does. It basically stores the compiled code from each PHP file in shared memory so that Apache does not need to reread and recompile each PHP file for every web page request.
If you notice that any pages stop working or start taking a lot longer to load in your browser, please let us know and I will investigate.
