Well, I installed Marc Liyanage's patched freetype library, and suddenly my RTL/LTR icons disappeared from the toolbar, although I think this is coincidental, as I've seen some reports of this elsewhere.

According to the toolbar config, they're still enabled. Disabling them and reenabling them makes them appear very briefly before vanishing entirely. Reverting freetype didn't help.

I've tossed the user/config and user/registry folders, and then the entire user folder, to no avail. I also poked around in the xml files for the toolbars, to no avail, but I'm not familiar with the files, either.

Ultimately, I still had my user folder from the candidate 2 GM and replaced the existing one with this, but non-packrats may not be so lucky (moreover, creating fresh prefs hadn't seemed to have helped). So I've made this post as sort of a flag, in case anyone is interested or can post some "reproducible" data to make a real bug report....

Note that if you remove ~/Library/Preferences/OpenOffice.org1.1.2 the multi-user portions of the soffice script will go ahead and recreate the settings on the next application launch.

A set of defaults are stored in the program/user.tgz file, but you do need to run some grep replacements on them to fix usernames and paths. You can look at the top section of the soffice script for the commands if you want to work on them manually Smile
