Excellent!

That's now much better behaved! After my previous post things had got even weirder with the remote controlling both iTunes AND NeoOffice at the same time!! Now things are much more civilised, and the preference to turn the remote off works too.

Thanks Patrick & Ed. Great speedy support once again.

Cheers,

Andy

Same here (Patch 2 Test 4) - all seems to work in Impress and other applications when NeoOffice is in the background Smile

Glad to hear the latest test patch works. I have uploaded Patch 3 with the fix to our servers and as soon as the mirrors have it, we will release Patch 3.

How does one go about diagnosing problems with this? I can hit the play button ">" on the remote and the slide show starts as advertised, but then the remote has no effect. I'm at a loss at how to diagnose the problem.

MacBook Pro, 2GB RAM, latest Leopard and NeoOffice updates. I'm using the Apple Remote.

If you open the /Applications/Utilities/Console application, are there any messages there?

Also, can you open the /Applications/Utilities/Terminal application, paste the following commands in the Terminal application window, press the Return key, and paste the output into this forum topic?:

ls -l ~/Library/InputManagers
ls -l ~/Library/Application\ Support
ls -l /Library/InputManagers
ls -l /Library/Application\ Support

The output from these commands will tell us if you have any system hacks installed on your machine. Many system hacks are installed silently by applications and since they inject themselves into all running applications, this might be a possible cause.

One more thing to try. What happens when you start the slideshow and manually press the right arrow ">" key on your keyboard. Does the slide advance?

Ahhh.... I wouldn't be surprised as there's stuff I've installed and deleted, or installed and don't use. I did search and replace on my user and computer name

Thank you for the output. I see that you have two system hacks installed on your machine. But before we have you disable those, can you download the following test patch and see if there is any change in behavior?:

Intel:
http://jane.neooffice.org/test/NeoOffice-2.2.4-Patch-5-Test-1-Intel.dmg

PowerPC:
http://jane.neooffice.org/test/NeoOffice-2.2.4-Patch-5-Test-1-PowerPC.dmg

If the remote controls still are not responsive, then can quit NeoOffice and disable the two system hacks by doing the following steps? After doing these steps and rebooting, is there is any change in behavior?:

1. Move the following two folders to your Desktop:

~/Library/InputManagers/Menu Extra Enabler
/Library/InputManagers/GrowlSafari

2. Reboot

Note that "~/Library" means your the Library subfolder in your Home folder and to "/Library" means the Library subfolder shown when you double-click on your Desktop's main volume icon.
