I notice that Irish is not among the hundred or so languages that can be selected for "Language of locale setting" and "Default languages for documents" (Tools > Options > Language settings > Languages). Would I be right in guessing that this shortcoming is inherited with the basic code (i.e. from Open Office, or even Star Office)? If so, how can it be addressed? If not . . .

Due to limited disk space, I only bundled the more commonly supported OOo language files with Neo/J.

There is, however, an Irish dictionary for spell-checking available that you can download and install. The installation instructions are for OOo but they should work for Neo/J as well:
