Being a Qt developer, this is nice news as it adds another useful export format for us. However, I wish they'd fix all the crashing bugs in Qt/Mac first  Offhand I don't know if this will be of any help to KOffice, however, as I am unsure of how KOffice implements its internal document storage. If it's not a straight QTextDocument then it may not be that useful.
One cool side-effect, however, will be on any of the Qt embedded phones and devices that should be able to then get some subset of ODF rendering pretty easily.
