I've been corresponding recently in the Community Relations account with a Japanese Mac magazine that wants to include Neo on their next DVD, and in the course of that have had a chance to review some of the CD Distribution and Trademark Usage Policy.
There are a couple of places where we've not kept up with the world and a couple of places where we've made some changes in how NeoOffice is shipped that aren't reflected in the distribution policy.
I'd like to propose
1) Replace "CD" with "CD/DVD" or the like throughout the text of the document
3) Add a small section to the NeoOffice Readme shipped on the .dmg that talks about how to get the source (I can draft this) and points to Getting the Source, so that anyone shipping Readme as part of their CD/DVD distribution is automatically covered (perhaps this url is a build system variable like other stuff in the file, so that people making Neo clones don't get to claim our source repo as their source repo)
Patrick & Ed, do those sound OK?

In addition, since we no longer ship a NeoOffice source tarball on the release dmgs, I'd like to make sure I can tell the magazine that they can satisfy the GPL source requirement by including a text link or Internet Location file (.webloc) to the NeoOffice build page.

All of the proposed changes in your first post make perfect sense so feel free to update the NeoWiki with those changes. If you have some text that I can add to the ReadMe.rtf for how to get the source, I will include it in the NeoOffice 2.2.5 release.

This is not necessary as the magazine is only mirroring our binaries. When mirroring, the source requirement is our requirement, not theirs so they should be able to distribute NeoOffice plus the latest patch and applicable language packs without having to add any additional documentation.
Note: if they can wait until 15 September, I would encourage the magazine to wait for NeoOffice 2.2.5.
I've made the changes I mentioned above (plus a few little cleanups) and have marked the Italian and French translations as "fixme".
I haven't renamed the page just yet, partly because I want to check how many places link to it, and partly because I wonder if maybe a better name for it at this point is "NeoOffice Distribution and Trademark Usage Policy" (rather than "CD/DVD Distribution"). Even if the main area of discussion is CD/DVD distribution, it does also briefly address things like mirroring.
