Friends --
Can anyone tell me how to install a font in OSX 10.5.4?
I downloaded a free typeface (Garamond Macron, four fonts) from the net. It appears in my hard drive under downloads.
I dragged it into the Font Book and it appears to have arrived there.
However, in Neo Office, when I click the font name, Garamond Macrons appears in the box, but it won't actually operate on the page. No cursor, no typing.
If you are seeing the font in NeoOffice's font list, it is installed. NeoOffice uses the Mac OS X system fonts so there installing the font using the Font Book application is all that you should need to do.
First, have you restarted NeoOffice since installing the font? If so, your font may be a symbol font. Such fonts are not mapped to most keyboards so typing in a U.S. QWERTY or similar keyboard configuration will be ignored by the font.
To input a symbol font's characters, take a look at this NeoWiki. Does that help?
