I just came back from Montpellier today (staying in Geneva this weekend), and realized the big black box in the street was nowhere to be seen, and found an Apple store instead!

Here are some pictures I found of the inauguration (apparently, it was yesterday - how did I miss that?):

I'm going to check it out tomorrow Smile

I too am surprised that the Apple Store opened in Geneva without you knowing about it. Smile You must be busy in Montpellier.

It's not so bad actually (in that "cave", you find software, iPod & iPhone accessories, and laptop cases). The store itself is a bit smalller than the Pasadena store (only other Apple store I've ever been to), but it's just as nice, and extremely crowded ATM (the pictures above were taken by the press before the store actualy opened to the public, except those of the line which were taken just before the store opened, obviously).

The thing is, the store is located in a strategic spot (which cost Apple an undisclosed but undoubtedly huge amount of money); however, they have very limited space at their disposal, so they have to use all of it, and probably couldn't place adequate lights in that small section.

I knew the store was going to open, but the launch date was kept secret until the last minute (apparently, from what I've seen on the web, Apple were able to keep the date secret until a week ago)…
