Back Story: Hard disk quit. Didn't have my templates backed up. Bought new HDD (Hitachi 7200rpm 320GB.) Re-downloaded Neo, applied patch 1. Opened old template to update it by placing fields from address book into the proper places in the template document (Writer).

(When you do this, you can then open the template, View-->Data Sources, select your client's row, and click "Data to Fields". Client's name, Company, and Address are automatically placed in the document everywhere they belong, including report headers.)

Only trouble is, when I drag the column header to the document, instead of placing a field reference as it should, it doesn't. I get the system's green plus sign, it appears to go where I want it to, but no field gets placed.

The data source is the Apple Address Book; I've mapped the fields to Neo's in Templates->Organize:Address Book. I've chosen Tools->Update->Update All. I've re-started Neo. Drag & Drop of fields from data source window still doesn't work.

To duplicate this, open a new document. View data sources. Select a data source (one with some data in it). Select a column in the data window. Drag to document. When you release the mouse, it should show the data field name on a grey background until you click "Data to Fields."

What did I miss? This worked fine under Tiger, and I'm now using Leopard (10.5.5) and Neo 2.5.5 p 1. Any ideas?

I see the same behavior in NeoOffice 2.2.5 with Patch 1 on Mac OS X 10.4.11. Since this does not occur in RetroOffice 2.2.5, I have to assume that there is a bug in our code that is causing the drop to fail.

Can you file a bug in Bugzilla so that this bug is on our list of bugs to fix for Patch 2? I can then post a test patch in your bug for you to try as soon as I have a fix available.

Patrick posted a fix for this. Look up the bug and download the test patch if you're having the same problem. Check my system specs below, 'cause YMMV.
