bonjour à tous, je recherche une police phonétique à télécharger gratuitement pour Mac OS X 10.3.9 Power PC , quelqu'un connaît-il un site ?

Le site de Tom Gewecke (en Anglais) est une source d'information très intéressante sur les moyens d'entrer des caractères en différentes langues sur son Mac. J'ai trouvé cet article sur son blog :

L'article contient des liens vers deux polices contenant les glyphes de l'alphabet phonétique international (j'imagine que c'est ce que vous entendez par police phonétique), Charis SIL et Doulos SIL. Elles sont disponibles sous license ofl (Oen Font License).

Comme je n'ai pas de Mac fonctionnant sous Panther, je ne peux vérifier que ces polices fonctionnent sous ce système.

lavina seems to be looking for free fonts with glyphs for the International Phonetic Alphabet, so I pointed her to an article from Tom Gewecke on the subject.

See also this blog post [en] (where NeoOffice gets a recommendation). I haven't installed the keyboard layouts, but the fonts themselves work just fine on 10.3.9.

(Apologies; I've been sick this week, so I'm not up to writing en français Sad )

Merci de votre aide.
j'ai donc téléchargé les polices CharisSIL et le Keyboard Layout et les ai installés. j'ai suivi pas à pas le document "using IPA fonts with Mac OS X : the comprehensive guide", j'ai vu dans le menu de saisie non pas le petit drapeau américain annoncé, mais le n dont la jambe droite est prolongée et qui correspond en français au "gn", j'ai obtenu le visualiseur de clavier (clavier anglais) et quand j'ai voulu expérimenter et taper, je n'ai obtenu que les caractères habituels, la seule différence était que je tapais comme sur un clavier anglais au lieu du clavier français (azertyuiop) que j'utilise.
en reformulant : je ne suis pas arrivée à obtenir la frappe directe en IPA mais seulement la transformation de mon clavier "azertyuiop" en clavier "qwertyuiop".
qu'en pensez-vous ?

I suspect that you cannot use the English or French keyboards with those fonts. Instead, you will have to switch to the custom keyboard layout that you installed.

If that does not work, then you may need to use the Mac OS X Character Palette to input specific glyphs with those fonts:

J'ai installé les polices et le clavier, mais je ne peux fermer ma session pour l'instant. J'effectuerai des tests une fois que cela sera possible.

Fast User Switching Wink (if you install for a user rather than for the whole system). IIRC, you really only need to restart the Finder after installing keyboard layouts, though it's been quite some time since I last did that dance.

Also, did I understand Lavina's problem correctly, that the IPA keyboard layout is only acting like a QWERTY keyboard layout, instead of entering the IPA character? (That is, when she presses the "a" key on her physical keyboard, with the IPA keyboard layout active, she gets a "q" entered?)

I was rather busy, too. Plus, I only have one user on this computer.

j'avais déposé les polices dans HD/bibliothèque/fonts, et ça ne fonctionnait pas, j'ai essayé dans le dossier moi/bibliothèque/fonts et je peux même utiliser le visualiseur de clavier. il ne me reste qu'à faire des progrès en orthographe phonétique... n'est-ce pas ?

In Mac OS X 10.3 and later, the way that you installed the fonts will not work. Mac OS X now requires that you install your fonts using the following steps: launch the /Applications/Font Book application, select the File :: Add Fonts menu, select your font file, and press the OK button.

Does that install your font?

oui, les polices CharisSIL sont maintenant installées et fonctionnent pour tous les utilisateurs. au redémarrage elles ont été copiées dans HD/Library/fonts.

Je vois que tout est bien qui finit bien Smile

En effet, sous Mac OS X 10.3 ou supérieur, installer les polices via Font Book marche souvent mieux que de le faire manuellement…

lavina has been able to install the fonts via Font Book and to make sure that they've been installed for all users.
