|
I have installed, uninstalled nd reinstalled Open office 1.1.2. It won't launch although it does open and gives an opportunity to see details. which says can't open library:/usr/X11r6 etc. I have downloaded X11 which is in the utilities folder and bounces in the dock when I try to launch OOO. When I say ok to the dialouge box about can't launch Open office does appear and I can get choice to open New text document etc. When I click one I get the same dialogue box about can't launch. In the long dialogue there is an errorno 2 listed.
I have a blue Mac G3 with OSX 10.3.5.
Any suggestions about how to proceed?
Thanks

Did you try starting X11 and then opening a Terminal (or the resulting xterm if you haven't customized your xinitrc) and launching it manually from the command line according to the instructions in the README? The readme is online at:
http://porting.openoffice.org/mac/README_OOO.html
Just scroll down to the "Starting OpenOffice.org Manually" section. Note that 10.3 has bash as a default shell, so you may want to type
before trying to make sure you're in a shell where "setenv" works if you don't know now to translate "setenv" into "set" and "export" for bash.
