Starting sometime tomorrow I'll be unavailable for most of the rest of the month. I may have occasional internet access, but I may not either.

Since I'm the one who usually answers the Base questions, I thought I'd leave a little guidance for the rest of you for the interim:

All the regulars probably know about the To Base and Back Again tutorial series in the wiki. The main page lists the tutorials both in order of execution and by topic (forms, queries, etc.)

Another good source for answers is the OpenOffice.org community forums. Their header says "User community support forum for OpenOffice.org, StarOffice and NeoOffice." I am active there as "kabing," and was invited to be one of their official volunteers. They have no problem helping NeoOffice users. Early on there was one member who complained occasionally about such open support for NeoOffice (you can guess who), but he was ignored, and everyone else has been great. I've referred the most recent Base questioners there as backup in my absence.

Lorinda,

Thanks for the suggestions and links. We'll definitely keep an eye out for any Base questions and respond quickly to them while your away.

I'm back. We had a good vacation, aside from the news of Jacqueline's death. Among other things, we were in the mountains of Colorado, which I always enjoy, even if the altitude bothers me as an adult. (As an asthmatic child, I could always breathe better in the mountains than at home.)

Oh, and my AC power adapter for my iBook started overheating and smelling of smoke. Then AppleCare tried to send the replacement to my home instead of the address I specified. When I called to find out where it was, they said delivery had been attempted, but not completed because no one was there, so they cancelled that order and sent one to address where I was staying. But when I got home today I found a box from Apple in my front door (between the screen door and the "real" door). So I guess I'll have to call them again and find out how to return it.....Maybe I should mention that DHL isn't following their "don't leave the part if no one is there" policy.
