Erroneous error message

When you try to open a document with the menu option file>last used documents, selecting it from the list of previous used documents and the file is not anymore located where it was saved to, you get an error message saying that the file does not exist. This is correct up to this point. You are asked to confirm with an ok-button. If you do so, surprisingly the same message pops up again and not before you confirm a second time it disappers.

This is not a big deal but sort of confusing and leaving a doubtful impression of the program quality.

I have bad news. This is a bug in NeoOffice's underlying OpenOffice.org code as the same bug occurs in OpenOffice 3.0 which NeoOffice 3.0 Early Access 2 is based on.

Unfortunately, our very limited funding and developer resources limits the current scope of the NeoOffice project to keeping a native version of OpenOffice.org running on Mac OS X and fixing OpenOffice.org bugs is outside that scope.

You can file a bug in the OpenOffice.org issue tracker to get it on the radar of the core OpenOffice.org developers and if they fix the bug, the new behavior will get included in a future release of NeoOffice:

Note : our advice is to not mention NeoOffice as mentioning NeoOffice may cause OOo volunteers to accidentally close it without actually reviewing your bug.

It looks like someone has filed Issue 96131 in OpenOffice.org's IssueTracker against this. It was filed back in November and I do not see that any progress has been made on the bug so far.

In the latest version of Oo aqua the „erroneous error message“ does not appear anymore. So they must have made some progress. Here is the link.
