Ive imported documents that have a smaller line spacing between text that runs on to the next line, and a larger line spacing when you press return and manually put the text on a new line. How can I turn this on in a new NeoOffice document?
thanks |

Go to Format::Paragraph in the menu - then in the Indents & Spacing tab of the dialogue that appears, you can adjust either/both of Spacing Above/Below Paragraph to increase the line spacing between paragraphs.

thanks
Is there a way when typing to put some text on the next line, but to make an exception so it has the normal line spacing it would have if it had run onto the next line?
I need to do this on the fly as im typing, i dont have time to select the ext and change the spacing in the menu manually each time. |

I think I know what you're asking for, though let's check:
You want a difference between the line break and paragraph break line spacing (which we covered above) - but you also want sometimes to break to a new line within a paragraph without invoking the paragraph spacing?
If so, hit shift-Return - this puts in a line break within a paragraph, preserving the within-paragraph line spacing.
The Paragraph Spacing that we set above will be good for all your text if you set it before you start typing in your new doc. If there's existing text, you'd need to select all of it and then apply the Paragraph Formatting. |
