Hi,

A new idea that came to mind a few hours ago
Instead the usual search-replace tool, maybe a new search apparat maybe would be implemented.

To be more specific, a small-spotlight like tool, would help the users a lot.
The details maybe set from a another window, which the connecting would be reachable from the search window.

I dont know what purpose would this serve, but would look nice though. And maybe in return, the usual command-f search window would be taken apart from the code, to favor the new king.

Umm. Yes would look cool I guess. I hate the usual search window.
And maybe this would be the first step to redesign the UI more Mac style.

And I know, its impossible, but the tabbed interface Very Happy

It is not impossible, it is just not remotely affordable. Wink

Oh, yes, thanks for correcting.

And, this means search tool is worth to consider?

Sorry, but it is not affordable for us. We do not have the money to hire people to revamp NeoOffice's underlying OpenOffice.org code. We are two people who are barely able to work on the tiny donations that we receive and no venture capital firms or angel investors are interested in investing money in NeoOffice so we must do what we can with the meager donations receive.

What that means is that we can do only what we do now: fix bugs and provides user support. Those two things already require us to work 7 days a week and 60 - 70 hours per week to do. That leaves no room for changes to OpenOffice.org's features. In fact, we do not even have time to fix the many hundreds of confirmed OpenOffice.org bugs in Bugzilla.

A good rule of thumb is that if you do not have the funds to hire engineers to implement your idea, then we probably don't have the funds either. Software feature changes are like house remodeling: it doesn't cost anything to come up with lots of great ideas, but it can cost a fortune to implement those ideas.
