Once again when I rebooted and restarted NeoOffice (without Spotlight in the folder) the headers were collapsed.
Can you run the "mdimport -L" command again using the instructions in my previous post and paste the output in this forum topic? That will tell if any of the disabled ones are still being loaded.
I thought you wanted me to check each one individually to see if any one made a difference. So I disabled them one at a time. And each time I did that I reloaded it and went on to the next one. Also each time I was restarting both the iMac and NeoOffice.
Did you want all five to be disabled at the same time?
From your output, it is clear that the 5 plugins that you disabled are not being loaded by Apple's Spotlight service. So I think it is safe to conclude that those 5 are not the cause.
I know that this is very tedious and inconvenient to do, but since removing volumes from Spotlight's list is the only thing that we have found that stops the collapsing column behavior, I would like to investigate Spotlight as completely as possible.
So, can you disable all of the remaining plugins that are listed in your last post? After you have moved the remaining plugins to the Desktop and rebooted, can you rerun the "mdimport -L" command and verify that there are no items in the output?
Does the problem still occur after disabling all of them? If not, then can you reenable a few plugins at a time by doing the following steps?:
1. Move a few plugins that you disabled back to their original location (the original locations are in this forum post) and reboot
2. Verify that the plugins that you reenabled are actually getting loaded by Spotlight by running the "mdimport -L" command. The locations of the reenabled plugins should be in output.
3. If the problem reoccurs, stop and tell us which plugins you reenabled.
If the problem still does not reoccur, repeat the above steps.
Here's the problem. When I try to move the plug-in's from the System folder they just get copied, not moved. If you can advise me how to do that I will.
All the others were removed, NeoOffice plug-in (as mentioned earlier) has to be Trashed.
I restarted. Same problem. Ran Terminal with this expected result:
Seeing as the others were removed and the problem persists is it safe to assume the problem might be with the above?
That seems like a reasonable conclusion for us to investigate. However, since you cannot disable them easily, I would like to see if there are any file size differences in the remaining plugins compared to the same on my machine.

Thank you for the output. I see no differences in the number or size of your files compared to mine. So I went through NeoOffice's underlying OpenOffice.org code to see if I could figure out what could possibly cause such narrow column and row headers and what I found is that these are set from the native font height.
This gave me another theory: one of your fonts returns bad font height values when Spotlight is consuming lots of CPU. If my theory is correct, I might be able to fix this in NeoOffice by detecting when a font's height is an odd value and, in that case, assign it with the font's point size which should be reasonably close to its true height.
I have created bug 3446 and I have posted links to a test patch in my last post in that bug. If my theory is correct, then the Calc row and column headers should no longer collapse even when all Spotlight plugins are enabled.
