When I type a series of directions to be taken, I indent the first line by pressing the tab key and then number each step to be taken. But all lines in each of the directions are indented the same distance from the left-margin.
How can I correct this so that all lines (except the first line of each step) are flush with the left-margin?
Oh, the Bullets and Numbering floating menu keeps appearing. I'm using NO 2.2.5, patch 7. _________________ Bob

NeoOffice sees the number and indent, and presumes you are creating a numbered list. It is trying to help you by repeating the indent and controlling the numbering.
To stop this before you begin the list, go to Format>AutoFormatting and uncheck While Typing.
If you've started, you can hit command-Z just after NeoOffice forces the indent/numbering, or you can turn Bullets and Numbering off by clicking on the Bullets and numbering icon.
