Hello There,

I am trying to rotate a Picto control on a Writer form. I want to have the picture inside a Picto control because it is easy for the user to double-click than chose the picture to add inside. But sometimes it is 90° from the normal and I want to allow my user to rotate it on demand.
Even in design mode, when I right-click on the picto-control than chose "Position and Size", than "Rotation" or "Tilt", the fields on the dialog box are greyed and I cannot modify them. In fact I cannot figure when these fields are accessibles.
Do you have any clue ?
Thanks in advance,
Thierry

I am sorry but I have bad news: all versions of NeoOffice's underlying OpenOffice.org code cannot rotate images inserted directly into Writer documents.

The only workaround for this OpenOffice.org limitation that I found is to use Apple's Preview application to rotate and save the image before inserting the image into NeoOffice's image control. To rotate an image in Apple's Preview application, open the image file in the Preview application by double-clicking on the image file in the Finder, press the Rotate Right or Rotate Left toolbar button, and select the File :: Save menu to save the rotated image.

Unfortunately, our very limited funding and developer resources limits the current scope of the NeoOffice project to keeping a native version of OpenOffice.org running on Mac OS X and fixing OpenOffice.org bugs is outside that scope.

The following feature request has already been filed with OpenOffice.org requesting the ability to rotate images in Writer documents:

http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=12909

If Sun Microsystems' OpenOffice.org engineer ever implement this feature request, the new behavior will get included in a future release of NeoOffice.

Thank you for your answer Patrick, I hope that the OpenOffice team will do its job one next day.
I would like to stay inside Neo/OpenOffice, because the application will be installed on a PC _and_ on a Mac. Never do it simple when you can do it complicated Wink
But I will find another way to overcome this limit.
Thanks again,
Thierry
