Not sure if this is the correct forum, but:

In my account on this site, there is a form for indicating my "donation level" -- i.e., how much I have donated to NeoOffice. I actually do not know how much it has been ($15 here, $15 there); but does it matter? Is this figure something I should spend my time trying to establish accurately?

The reason for the stars and donation levels is explained in this forum topic:

Don't worry too much about it - as it says:

If you made donation payments and the e-mail address that you gave PayPal is different from the e-mail address that you use for this account, you can add the e-mail that you gave PayPal to the e-mail addresses that is used to calculate your donation level by entering the following items for one of your donation payments:

* E-mail address that you gave PayPal
* Amount of the payment
* Currency used for the payment
* Date of the payment

So if this all applies to you, you'd just need to enter the info for one donation that you made via PayPal (with the different email address from the one you created your trinity forum account with) so the system can work out who you are, and it will then know how much you've donated altogether. But if this doesn't apply to you, you don't have to do anything.

What you are seeing is this feature that we added a month or so ago.

We merely use this as a way for the core NeoOffice support people to identify donors so that they get first get our attention first when there is a high volume of support questions.

Since only about 1% of NeoOffice users donate anything, having one or more donation stars makes your posts visual stand out for us core support people when we look at the forums.

Edit: I moved this topic in the Random Whatnot forum to be in the same forum as the other topics for this feature are located.

Also, if it is linked you can explicitly hide that information too from moderators. We totally understand that some folks want to remain anonymous helpers Smile
