Hi there,

NeoOffice Writer 3.0 with patch 2 has a strange behavior in Web Display mode.

Config : iMac 20", OS 10.4.11

On saving the file, the display toggles shortly to Page Display mode. When it comes back to Web Display, the windows often doesn't show exactly the same part of the document.

Toggling the display mode is useless for the user and it "breaks the flow". And when you have to look for the cursor, you loose a bit more your ideas.

Is it a bug or some side effect of the saving procedure ?
Any improvement possible ?

Thanks,
Stéphane.

When I save in Web Layout mode, the cursor remains in the same place and the page does not scroll. I am using a simple text file of a few hundred lines and I have placed the cursor about half way through the document. Are there different steps that I need to do to see the cursor move?

As for the temporary switch to Print Layout mode, this step is needed by the code that saves the file. What is happening is that when you save a file, NeoOffice embeds a copy of the first page of your document in PDF format within the saved file and the Finder in Mac OS X 10.5.x Leopard uses the embedded PDF image to display a preview of your file in Cover Flow mode. NeoOffice's underlying OpenOffice.org needs to force the document into Print Layout mode to generate the PDF image.
