Install over OSX 10.3.4 with X11

The distribution was supposed to include X-11 but could not find it.

OK. Said to look on CD3. There is no 3 in my distribution which BTW is on DVD.

Went to Apple site and downloaded and installed X-11. This is very intrusive and I had to re-do a lot my original install. Never mind Sad

Now I thought I would be able to run the OOo install. However, it still reports lack of X-11 and gives up. Still wittering on about CD #3.

Give up? Preferably not as I need Office on here and really wanted to try OOo. How can I move forward?

Either installing the X11 package (X11User.pkg) from your OS X dvd or from the Apple download should suffice. Is there an X11(.app) in your /Applications/Utilities folder?

If X11 is in your /Applications/Utilities folder and a fresh launch of the OOo installer still complains, I'm rather baffled. Shocked

If you'd rather not mess with X11 at all, though, you should check out NeoOffice/J (see elsewhere in these fora and the website link on the left sidebar), which eliminates the need for X11 and has better OS integration to boot.
