When I first visit the site, I click the Login link at the top of the page. Nothing happens. That is, I am not presented with the usual login page requiring the entry of screen name, password, and CAPTCHA code.

So I found a workaround: Instead of clicking Login, I click Profile. And it knows who I am! From that page, I click the Home link on the left panel, and I'm taken to the Forum index page.

I'm not concerned about it, and this isn't a complaint. Thought you'd like to know how your forum site works from this end.

I think sometimes the cookies for phpNuke and phpBB can get out-of-sync, with the phpBB (forums) cookie expiring before the main cookie. I've certainly seen it before where I was logged in to trinity but not to the forums, and trying to log in via the forums "Log in" link doesn't actually log you in.

I haven't seen this behavior in quite some time, though; usually I'm either logged out or logged in, and when I'm logged out, I always log in via clicking the link to get to my profile ("Your Account"), never the "Log in" link for the forums.

I have noticed this too and it started when I configured phpNuke to make the forums page this site's home page. So far, I have been watching for the "Log out" link at the top of the page to turn to "Log in". When it does that, I then click on the "trinity.neooffice.org Forum Index" link to refresh my session.

I am trying to find where this bug is occurring in the phpNuke code but I still have not found where their code is failing.

I know that bugs annoy you, Patrick, but this one is easy to work around. Don't lose any sleep over it.

This bug has been annoying me greatly since I run into it several times each day. So, I made a small change to this site's underlying phpNuke code to redirect the following URL:

http://trinity.neooffice.org/

to the following URL:

http://trinity.neooffice.org/modules.php?name=Forums&file=index

That seems to fix the problem for me. Let us know if you still this problem.
