Thanks, Patrick. That seems to have been the magic bullet. No crashes on 3.0.1 Patch 1 since removing only that preference on the offending MacBook.
I'll reinstall the test patch now. _________________ Ray Saunders

I think that I have fixed the brochure printing bug that James3359 found in the last test patch. Can anyone install the following test patch and tell us if brochure printing or any other printing problems still occur?
Note: if you normally use brochure printing and you saved a brochure document while using the last test patch, you may need to force NeoOffice's underlying OpenOffice.org code to reset the paper size by doing the following steps:
1. Click the Page Preview button (blank page with magnifying glass) or select the File :: Page Preview menu
2. Click the Print Option Page View button (printer with a white "i" on a blue background)
3. When the Print Options dialogue opens, press the Default button and then reset the settings to say Rows: 1 Columns: 2 and the Format to Landscape
4. Print in brochure mode using the remaining steps in this NeoWiki article
5. Save the document so that you will not have to repeat the above steps
Below are the links to the latest test patch:

That's great, Patrick. As far as I can tell this is now working for brochure printing.
I have got one document, however, for which I am getting one slight anomaly. The first time I call up the Preview Print Options dialog it shows two pages side by side filling the top section of an A4 page. I then choose Landscape Format and the page outline changes to landscape and the two pages side by side completely fill the landscape outline. The two grey pages representing the pages to be printed on the sheet of paper no longer have the correct proportions, and when I turn them sideways they do not completely fill the outline. I am attaching a screenshot.
When I print to Preview, though, the result looks OK. The document is large and confidential so unfortunately I can't post it. This is the only document that produces the anomaly - so unless it pops up elsewhere with real consequences I wouldn't worry about it. _________________ MacBook Pro

The Print Options dialog is unmodified OpenOffice.org code. In no version of NeoOffice have we touched that dialog's code. For what it is worth, what you are seeing is what I see in most cases so I just assumed that is an idiosyncracy of that particular OpenOffice.org dialog.
All that I can suggest is that you resave your document after doing the steps in my previous post. Those steps will clean up any odd settings that may have been saved when you saved the document while using that previous test patch.

FYI. I would like to release NeoOffice 3.0.1 Patch 2 in the next few days to get the fix out for this crashing bug and I would like to include the new native Page Setup dialog changes that rays and James3359 have been testing in the patch.
Does anyone see a reason not to include the new native Page Setup dialog changes in the next NeoOffice patch? To see the changes, install the test patch from the links in this post.

Since I did not hear any objections I went ahead and included this change in NeoOffice 3.0.1 Patch 2 that I released today. You can download the patch from the NeoOffice patch download page.
Please let us know if you find any problems with the new behavior in the patch.
