PostPosted: Mon Feb 08, 2010 2:35 pm    Post subject: Bug Report: Impress Crashes

Impress has crashed repeatedly while I have been inserting and editing tables. I *seem* to get some warning of an impending crash when the table dialog does not open after clicking on the inserted table. (I'm not certain about this relationship.) I've attached a bug report.

Matt

It may not be related to table editing, after all. My document crashed while editing an "ordinary" slide. Attached is another report, for what it's worth.

Thank you for the crash log. Both crash logs indicate that the crash is occurring while drawing a table cell.

Unfortunately, I cannot reproduce this crashing so is it possible to attach a sample document and, if you can remember them, list the last few actions (like highlighting text in a certain cell, etc.) that you did right before the crash? My hope is that I can repeat your actions with the sample document to reproduce the crashing.

Please ignore my last post as I can now reproduce the bug by doing the following steps:

1. Open an Impress file and select the Insert :: Table menu to insert a new table

2. Put the cursor in the new table and select the Insert :: Table menu to insert a new table inside the first table

NeoOffice crashes in step 2 whereas doing the same steps in OpenOffice.org 3.0.1 (the version that NeoOffice 3.0.2 is based on) does not crash.

I will start investigating this bug. When I have found the cause and have a fix, I will post a test patch for you to try.

FYI. I have created bug 3589 to track this bug. I also think that I have found the cause so I will post a test patch within the next hour.

I think that I have fixed this bug. Can you install the following test patch and tell us if the crashing bug is fixed for you?:

FYI. I have included the fix for this bug in NeoOffice 3.0.2 Patch 1. You can download the patch from the following URL:
