I downloaded NeoOffice 3.0.2 about 10 days ago and since that time I cannot access the application. Every time I try to open it I get the following popup message:
Either another instance of NeoOffice is accessing your personal settings or your personal settings are locked. Simultaneous access can lead to inconsistencies in your personal settings. Before continuing you should make sure user 'johndgebhart' closes NeoOffice on host 'dcp 169.datatruck.com' . Do you really want to continue?
I've always punched the No button but for the life of me I cannot find anything that will allow me to close something that I never opened. Can you help me? My personal settings ARE unlocked.
You should be able to press the Yes button without any problem. After you press the Yes button and a document appears, quit and relaunch NeoOffice. Once you quit NeoOffice normally, you should not see this error message again.
This message usually appears if NeoOffice crashed or was force quit. When you launch NeoOffice, a temporary file is created so that the dialog that you are seeing will appear if a second instance of NeoOffice is launched.
In your case, the dialog appears because when NeoOffice crashed or was force quit, the temporary file never got removed. By pressing the Yes button, the temporary file will be removed when you quit NeoOffice normally.
Important: be sure that you have the latest NeoOffice 3.0.2 patch installed by selecting the About :: Check for Updates menu in NeoOffice. If you have experienced a crash, you definitely want to install the latest patch so that to you have bug fixes for any bugs reported after NeoOffice 3.0.2 was released.
