Unsaved Dot in Autotext window

This is primarily a cosmetic thing, but I noticed today that the red close button in the upper right of the AutoText window has a black "unsaved" dot in it. Given that a) changes in this dialog happen immediately and b) there is no "save" option, I'm thinking it shouldn't be there.

This is in Neo 3.1.1 Beta on an Intel Mac running Snow Leopard. I'll try to check 3.1.1 and 3.0.2 on my PPC machine in a little bit and post more info.

I am unable to reproduce this on Mac OS 10.4.11. But maybe I am using the wrong steps. I am opening a new Writer document and then selecting the Edit :: AutoText menu. Is there any steps that I am missing?

Nope, that does it on Snow Leopard. I haven't gotten around to checking my computer running Tiger yet. I'll try to get to it tonight before I go to bed.

I rebooted my Intel machine into Mac OS X 10.6.3 and I still cannot reproduce the problem. No matter what I do, no black "unsaved" dot appears in the AutoText dialog.

Hmm... I see it in both Tiger and Snow Leopard. On my Tiger Machine, I see it in 3.1.3 and 3.0.2.

A screenshot is attached. Not sure what we're doing different, or what is different about our setups. If I think of anything, I'll be sure to post.

Maybe you have a system hack that triggers this behavior? It probably is not the cause of the problem, but if you could launch the /Applications/Utilities/Terminal application, paste the following commands into the Terminal window, press the Return key, and copy the output into this forum topic, I can see if you have any system hacks that you can disable:

I do not see any system hacks in your output. So the next thing to check is if some user preference file is causing this problem. Can you try the following steps?:

1. Quit NeoOffice

2. Delete the ~/Library/Preferences/org.neooffice.NeoOffice.plist file

3. Restart NeoOffice

Do you see any change after do the above steps?

I just released NeoOffice 3.1.1 today and that is what I have been using. Can you download NeoOffice 3.1.1 and tell us if there is any change?

NeoOffice 3.1.1 is currently available for Early Access program members and can be downloaded from the NeoOffice Early Access Program download page.

I'm stumped, too. I tried logging out and logging back in without startup items, wondering if Butler was the problem. But that didn't have any effect.

I uninstalled Norton Antivirus (which had been acting oddly on my MacBook Pro in any event). No change.

Looks like it's one of those things that we'll just have to drop for the time being. Hopefully one of us will eventually come up with a bright idea that leads us to a solution.
