I am having problems with the automatic spellchecking, (and I REALLY need it!). Before the last upgrade it would sometimes quit in the middle of a document, that was anoying but livable, I just reopened the document.
I am running 1.1 Alpha 2 and now there seems to be no autospellchecking at all. I have it checked in the tools menu but it isn't working. HLEP! (see, I NEED it!) <grin>
From your post, I assume that you are using NeoOffice/J. In the future, you should post any issues to one of the NeoOffice/J forums as this forum is for the OpenOffice.org X11 product and, as a result, it might not get noticed.
As for your problem, I suspect that your user preference files are corrupted.
Try the following steps - these steps will reset your user preferences to the default settings - and see if it fixes your problem:
1. Close Neo/J.
2. Move or delete your ~/Library/NeoOfficeJ-1.1 directory.
3. Restart Neo/J.
