FYI. I realized yesterday that the Bugzilla website's code was not totally locked down to prevent spam posters.
While the minimum donation requirement on this site has almost completely eliminated spam postings (although it seems at least several spammers register new accounts every day), no such protection exists in the Bugzilla code. Luckily, there has been very little spam posting in Bugzilla, but it appears that the number of attempts to do so is increasing.
Rewriting the Bugzilla code to link to our donations database to protect against spamming is not worth the effort given that for the last two years we have only been using the Bugzilla site to track bugs reported on this site. So, what I have done to prevent spam posting is I have made the following change: new account creation and logging into existing accounts has been disabled.
Anyone can still view Bugzilla to see what bugs we are working on and to view the history before we moved bug tracking to this site two year ago, but only NeoOffice developers can login and post new bugs or comments to existing bugs.
I also added a new feature: any links in Bugzilla comments are now clickable. Since all bugs created in the last two years link back to a forum topic on this site, this will make it easier to direct users who back to this site where the bug discussion has occurred.
