FYI. I have a fix for RedHat crashing bug #842552.

The fix is in the following test patches for anyone who wants to test the fix. The crashing bug occurs when opening certain .pptx files that have tables with cells that have no text in them:

NeoOffice 3.4:
http://nick.neooffice.org/test/NeoOffice-3.4-Patch-0-Test-5-Intel.dmg

NeoOffice 2013.1:
http://nick.neooffice.org/test/NeoOffice-2013.1-Test-6-Intel.dmg

I'd already installed NeoOffice 3.4 Patch 0 Test 5, so to establish that the bug existed I re-applied Patch 0 Test 1. However this still opened the template.pptx from the RedHat bug report without causing NeoOffice to crash.

I then tried to open the same file using NeoOffice 2013.1 and the crash did occur. I can confirm that after installing Test 6 the crashing no longer occurs in NeoOffice 2013.1.

What you saw isn't unexpected. The reason is that reapplying Patch 0 Test 1 does not revert all of the files in Patch 0 Test 5. In order to fix the bug, I had to add a new file in Patch 0 Test 5 and that new file will remain if you reapply an older test patch.

FYI. I have included the fix for this bug in NeoOffice 3.4.1 which can be downloaded from the NeoOffice download page.

FYI. I have included the fix for this bug in NeoOffice 2013.2 which is available in Apple's Mac App Store.
