In theory, NeoOffice should behave exactly the same whether it was compiled as a 32 bit or 64 bit application. But realistically, we are now compiling on a newer version of Mac OS X and compiling with a different machine architecture. In our experience, such major changes to the build process results in new bugs so we wanted to provide a test version long before we submit NeoOffice 2014 to the Mac App Store.

If anyone finds any crashing or hanging bugs, please post them. Also, if you are unsure whether or not you have found a bug, post what you found and Ed or I will evaluate it. If what you found is a real bug, we will move your post to its own separate NeoOffice Testing forum topic so that it won't get buried in this forum topic.
Nice! I hope all your 2014 development plans proceed this quickly .
Edit: it start up just fine, and I can open preferences, a Writer document, a spreadsheet, and a drawing.
All works smoothly, though the text scrolling is visually a bit choppy, as if it is not synced with the screen refresh rate. _________________ "What do you think of Western Civilization?"

I have to admit that I didn't actually do it in only 2 days.
Fortunately, Ed had been working on building on 10.8 over the last few months while I was fixing crashing bugs. So when we found that Apple will no longer allow applications with QuickTime functions in the Mac App Store, Ed had already done a lot of the work and I was able get NeoOffice to build and run as a 64 bit app in only a few weeks.
In order to fix this ODBC crashing bug, I had to rebuild all of NeoOffice's underlying OpenOffice code. So, I have uploaded a new installer called "NeoOffice 2014 Developer Preview 2". If you were using the download in my earlier post, please download and install NeoOffice 2014 Developer Preview 2.
