Is it posible to diseable totally anti-aliasing ? Even if I do it through the option menu, I'mnot satisfied of the result.
I use frequently api characters so I have to use unicode fonts which look blurry. It is a reccurent problem with "panther", but maybe making a new feature of wordprocesing is a chance for improving this aspect.
I was quite surprised with Neooffice before Patch 4, which seemed to me more easy to read. In the same hand, I really do appreciate the integration of Quartz/Aqua because it is an improvement for daily use (recognition of aliases, printing, and so on) but I sincerely deplore its hazy aspect.
I don't know where the problem is, but as it occured with patch 4, maybe is it possible with a simple command to diseable the smoothing fonction on my mac (TextEdit seems not use this fonction).
If someone has an idea ? It is like a bottle thrown at the sea. Perhaps, it is far from your concerns, but I 'm sure it will be a good argument for a definitive migration to Neo, for me and so many macusers.
Sorry for my english. I really do appreciate your job. A great thank you !

Unfortunately I know of no way to disable antialiasing. It's something that's used systemwide in Mac OS X. There may be some type of third-party OS patch to turn it off systemwide or on an application by application basis.

The closest thing I know of is the System Preferences > Personal > Appearance preference panel. There you can disable antialiasing for fonts size 12 and smaller on a systemwide basis. Unfortunately they don't have anything larger.

As to OpenOffice.org X11, you may be able to trick it into not antialiasing by removing libXrender, but without that library you may be unable to use any truetype fonts.

Good luck, and sorry I couldn't be of more help!
