Ed,
There is a very small corruption in one of the cvs administrative files. The CVSROOT/val-tags file contains a corrupted entry. Apparently, invoking cvs with -r "" causes this corruption.
Can you delete this file on the cvs server? It is a cache file and will automatically get rebuilt as people do cvs commands with the -r option.

Over the last two days I checked permissions on the CVS repository, updated versions of the CVS server software, did a few backups of the repository and trinity's DB files, and finally rebooted the machines (which hadn't been done in nearly a month and a half...ah, finally they have uptime!)
Since there seem to have been a number of differnet problems with the servers, I created a new "Fuzkd Server" forum in the "Support" category for account problems on trinity, CVS woe, web server issues, what have you. For reference, my servers run trinity, Patruck runs the NeoJ website and primary binary/source tarball downloads, Dan's server is running our bug tracker, and individuals are helping with the torrents and mirrors independnetly (chech the "Mirrors" forum for more info). Since we're not 24/7 IT guys we definitely need to be informed if there are any issues...and would appreciate recommendations on how to solve them julst like the "delete the val-tags" suggestion
