I found something funny today while working in Draw:

If I make a table with multiple cells, and give them a different background colour, the table toolbar will show the background colour of the current cell.

If I then click on a cell with another colour, the toolbar will update, but a greyed-out version of the previous colour remains. See screenshot. If I click on the toolbar window, the entire toolbar updates and the artifact disappears.

This is not a showstopper, but it looks strange.

Best wishes,
Oscar

Does this occur in OpenOffice.org 3.0.1 or only NeoOffice? If you do not know, can you attach a sample document that we can use to reproduce the problem?

I only tried in NeoOffice, but here is the file I used. The multicolour table on slide 1 reproduces the problem for me.

Thanks,
Oscar

Thank you for providing a sample document. I was not able to reproduce this in OpenOffice.org 3.0.1 or my build of Go-oo so I filed bug 3536 to track this issue.

pluby is busy with the NeoOffice 3.0.1 Early Access Program at the moment so I do not think he will have a chance to work on this bug right away. Updates to the bug will be filed in this forum topic.

Thanks Fran.

I am not too worried about the bug. It is a cosmetic issue, not something that causes loss of data.

Best wishes,
Oscar

I think that I have fixed this bug. It was a very strange OpenOffice.org bug. For some reason, when we tell OpenOffice.org to use a native window titlebar for that floating window, the bug occurs. But when we use the non-native Window's titlebars that that the OpenOffice.org releases use, the bug does not occur.

Can you install the following test patch and tell us if it is fixed for you?:

Intel:

PowerPC:

Seems to be working now. The only remaining cosmetic issue is a very slight colour mismatch between the toolbar itself and the dropdown selector buttons, which I mostly see if I look at my screen at a funny angle Smile.

I think that I have fixed the background shading around the listboxes in that floating toolbar window. The OpenOffice.org code wants to paint a native toolbar background there and our code did not recognize the flag that the OpenOffice.org sends with this request. As a result of this fix, you will also notice that the all of the toolbars in the document window now have a native toolbar background instead of the OpenOffice.org "tubular" background.

Can you install the following test patch and tell us if it is fixed for you?:

The colour difference is gone, and the toolbars do look different.

Thanks and good night,
Oscar
