In some of our Mac App Store reviews, I saw that some users are having trouble finding the Microsoft Office XML file types (.docx, .xlsx, .pptx, etc.) in NeoOffice's Open and Save dialogs because they are at the end of the list of file types.
To make these common file types easier to find, I have made moved the Microsoft Office XML file types above the older 97/2000/XP Microsoft Office file types. Also, I replaced "2007 XML" with "2008/2011" in the names of all the Microsoft Office XML file types to match Office for Mac versions.
You can test the changes to the list of file types in NeoOffice's Open and Save dialogs by installing either of the following test patches. The screen snapshots at the end of this post show the changes:

I installed the test patch for NeoOffice 2014.1 and got the expected results in Writer, Calc, and Impress 
I think it's long past time for the AOO/LO people to rethink the entire ordering of their output options, but I don't ever expect that to happen—so it's good to see that you're able to move the current MS Office document types to a sane location in NeoOffice!

Excellent move. Small things like this make a real difference to how people appreciate software.
I tried NeoOffice 2014 with this patch and it gave the correct order in Writer. I'll take Smokey's word for the other ones  .
I am wondering if would not make sense to move text and html encoding to above the legacy Star* formats as well. After all, very few people will use those.

I think that is a good idea. If you open an empty Calc document and the File :: Save As menu, do you any other file types in the list that I should move up?

I would move CSV up with, and probably just ahead of, .dif and dBASE; I think CSV is the most common non-Microsoft exchange format for spreadsheet-like data.
At the risk of repainting the bikeshed a just slightly different shade of blue, in Impress, it seems odd that
1) the old PowerPoint Show "Microsoft PowerPoint 97/2000/XP (.pps)" format is all alone at almost the bottom of the list, rather than with the other PowerPoint 97/00/XP formats, and that
2) the "ODF Drawing (Impress)" item is at the bottom, rather than above "NeoOffice 1.0 Drawing (NeoOffice Impress) (.sxd)" (in parallel to the way that ODP is listed first and NeoOffice 1.x Presentation follows ODP) in the list.

I have moved HTML and text file types above the StarOffice file types. Also, I have moved the "NeoOffice 1.0" file types down with the StarOffice file types.

I moved the HTML and CSV file types up before the StarOffice file types.

I have moved both of these Impress file types up into their respective matching file types.
